About the role

The Network Specialist will join the Infrastructure & Networks team to strengthen operational capacity, distribute workload, and ensure continuity and stability of switching, connectivity, physical networks, access, VPN, and identity services. The role also supports documentation, standardisation, and process improvement to free the team for strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain switching, connectivity, and physical network in multiple datacenters (dc-Pocitos, dc-Pando, contingency sites).
• Handle operational tickets: access provisioning, VPN (FortiClient/Fortinet), connectivity, and identity.
• Support FortiGate firewall administration and inter‑site connectivity rules.
• Maintain technical documentation (runbooks, procedures, CMDB) and the team’s GitHub repository as the source of truth.
• Execute and track version‑controlled network configuration changes using Git workflows (branches, reviews, approvals).
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects and quarterly NET objectives (HA/continuity, security, processes).
• Log hours and activities consistently in Jira (project RDS/NET) and escalate critical incidents per the change‑approval matrix.

Required profile

• Autonomous with strong prioritisation skills in a high‑volume operational environment.
• Proactive in documenting and standardising processes.
• Effective communicator with Sysadmin, DevOps, and SOC teams.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to continuously learn alongside specialised teammates.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with LAN/WAN switches (Arista, Cisco, Nexus).
• Knowledge of VLANs, basic routing, DNS and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Experience with access management and VPN solutions (FortiClient, Active Directory or equivalents).
• Familiarity with Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls.
• Proficiency in Jira, Git, GitHub and SharePoint for ticketing and documentation.
• Version control of network configurations (commits, branches, pull requests).
• Desirable: MPLS, SD‑WAN, Cloudflare (DNS, WAF, Tunnels), AWS/Azure, Zabbix or similar monitoring tools.
