About the role

The Principal Executive – Viability will lead CAF's programmatic work on sustainable road infrastructure across Latin America and the Caribbean. The role provides technical expertise throughout the credit cycle, ensuring that projects are designed, financed, and managed in line with regional development goals.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the implementation, coordination and continuity of road infrastructure programs, delivering technical knowledge in planning, design, construction, conservation and asset management.
• Support all phases of the credit process – origination, evaluation and administration – with specialized technical input.
• Develop and supervise technical cooperation projects that generate knowledge, strengthen institutional capacity and promote best practices in road safety, asset management and climate‑change adaptation.
• Act as the sectoral reference in client countries, advising business units on design, preparation, implementation and supervision of road‑related operations.
• Coordinate road‑sector actions with CAF’s broader initiatives on logistics, regional integration, urban mobility, climate change, agriculture and inclusion.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in civil engineering, transportation planning, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in road infrastructure projects, including feasibility studies, asset management and resilience planning.
• Proven ability to work with public and private stakeholders in multi‑country environments.
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with project financing cycles.
