Assistant Front Desk Manager

About the role

The Assistant Front Desk Manager leads a front desk team to deliver industry‑leading service to guests. This role combines hands‑on guest interaction with coaching, performance tracking, and problem resolution to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and motivate the front desk team, providing coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of key performance indicators, guest ratings, and comments to drive continuous improvement.
• Address guest feedback proactively and resolve issues efficiently.
• Perform front‑desk duties such as handling lost luggage, cash services, safety deposit boxes, lost‑and‑found, printing, issuing Sea Pass cards, and broadcasting ship announcements.
• Lead by example, staying visible at the desk to support the team and uphold service standards.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of front‑of‑house supervisory experience in a hotel, cruise line, or related hospitality setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle guests requiring discretion, patience, and diplomacy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and staff to resolve problems.
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic, diverse environment and adapt to fleet‑wide operational needs.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational education preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Computer operation and internet navigation.
• Use of standard office equipment (printers, scanners, etc.).
