Software Alliance Ecosystem Manager

About the role

The Software Alliance Ecosystem Manager will work within Canonical’s Software Alliances team to drive joint product road‑maps, go‑to‑market strategies and adoption of Ubuntu‑based solutions with leading software partners. You will act as the bridge between partners and internal product, engineering and marketing teams, ensuring that open‑source offerings are integrated, supported and promoted globally.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with partner product, engineering, alliance and marketing teams to align on open‑source strategies.
• Gather partner requirements, assess gaps and identify opportunities for Canonical solutions.
• Coordinate messaging, content creation and launch plans with internal marketing and product groups.
• Produce partner‑ and customer‑facing assets such as reference architectures, joint blueprints, webinars, presentations, videos and white papers.
• Drive Ubuntu adoption within targeted alliance accounts and deliver enablement training for partner development, delivery, support and commercial teams.
• Influence partners to build solutions on Canonical technology and represent Canonical at partner events.
• Travel up to 25 % of the time, including international trips for conferences and partnership meetings.

Required profile

• Strong academic record with a bachelor’s degree in science, technology or engineering.
• Experience in software development and system architecture.
• Customer‑facing background in software engineering, product management, business development or technology strategy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to technical and executive audiences.
• Strategic and tactical thinking, self‑motivation and discipline for a remote‑first work environment.
