Forward Deployed Engineer (Remote)

About the role

Kake is a remote‑first, people‑first community of senior engineers building AI‑powered solutions for Fortune‑500 and fast‑growing companies. The Forward Deployed Engineer partners with customer engineering teams to apply Kake’s AI platform to their toughest technical challenges, designing, building, and deploying production‑grade applications, integrations, and data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Partner directly with customer engineering and business teams to scope high‑impact use cases.
• Design, build, and deploy production‑grade applications, integrations, and data pipelines on top of the platform.
• Prototype rapidly with customers, iterating based on feedback.
• Work hands‑on with LLM‑based systems (prompting, RAG, agent workflows), debugging and resolving issues in live deployments.
• Translate recurring customer needs into concrete feedback for product and engineering teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including customer‑facing or high‑ambiguity work.
• Strong coding ability in at least one of Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Go.
• Proven track record shipping full‑stack applications, APIs, and data pipelines end‑to‑end.
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), databases, and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with LLM‑based systems (prompting, RAG, evals, agent workflows).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
