Data Governance and Platform Manager

About the role

We are looking for the first dedicated Data Governance and Platform Manager at LawnStarter. You will own the trustworthiness of our data across the entire analytics stack – from source ingestion to dashboards and machine‑learning models. This is a hands‑on position where you will build automation, monitor data quality, and establish governance processes that scale.

Key responsibilities

• Implement automated monitoring for data quality, freshness, and schema changes across source systems, pipelines, and reports.
• Maintain a living data lineage map and conduct impact analysis for production changes.
• Define and enforce data contracts with engineering to prevent breaking changes.
• Set up Lightdash permissions, structure, and governance standards during its migration.
• Write checks, resolve incidents, and continuously improve platform hygiene.
• Document metric definitions, Segment event tracking standards, and ML data feeds.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining data warehouses and pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data governance, quality monitoring, and lineage.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive process adoption.
• Experience collaborating with analytics, engineering, and product teams.
