Certified Nursing Assistant

About the role

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides routine daily nursing care and support to residents in a healthcare facility, following each resident’s assessment and care plan. The role ensures residents’ comfort, safety, and well‑being while collaborating closely with nursing supervisors and other staff.

Key responsibilities

• Identify residents using wristbands or photo cards before delivering care, meals, or treatments.
• Record vital signs, temperatures, pulses, respirations, weight, and intake accurately on flow sheets and charts.
• Report any changes in resident condition, accidents, incidents, or grievances to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse promptly.
• Assist residents with personal care, mobility, dressing, and transferring to rooms, vehicles, or new locations.
• Maintain resident rooms (bed making, stocking supplies, labeling personal belongings) and ensure a welcoming environment.
• Document all care activities, observations, and resident interactions in a clear, descriptive manner.
• Respond to resident calls quickly and check frequently on residents who cannot call for help.
• Follow infection‑control policies, protect resident health information, and report any security concerns.

Required profile

• Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent.
• Ability to follow established procedures and only perform trained nursing care tasks.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and healthcare staff.
• Commitment to maintaining resident privacy and adhering to facility policies.

Required skills

• Measurement of vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration) and basic health metrics.
• Resident assistance with daily activities, mobility, and personal hygiene.
• Accurate documentation of care activities and resident observations.
