About the role
We are expanding our market presence and seek a self‑motivated Business Development Manager to drive sales and build key relationships across Montevideo and Brazil. The role combines strategic planning, market analysis, and close collaboration with product and project teams.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute an effective regional sales plan, achieving targets within budget.
- Master the company’s product portfolio and stay current on technology, market trends, regulations, and competition.
- Conduct regional business analysis, report performance metrics, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Identify and pursue opportunities in R&D, clinical, and pharmaceutical sectors; cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders.
- Coordinate with project managers and production teams to ensure smooth project delivery and clear client communication.
- Represent the company at national and regional conferences, trade fairs, and internal meetings.
- Promote BGI’s values and expand its vision in overseas markets.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of customer‑management experience in biotechnology or healthcare.
- Master’s degree or higher in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, bioinformatics or a related field.
- Fluency in English; Chinese is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of next‑generation sequencing (NGS) and IVD markets.
- Experience selling genomic services such as microarray, genotyping, and in‑vitro diagnostics.
- Understanding of government relations and lobbying within the pharma/biotech sector.
