Staff Software Engineer – Product

About the role

You will be the engineering anchor of a product initiative, working side‑by‑side with a product manager and designer. You own the full lifecycle—from problem framing and technical design to directing AI agents that generate most of the code, shipping to production, and measuring the impact on the initiative’s metric.

Key responsibilities

• Define the technical approach, data model, integration choices, rollout plan, observability, and rollback strategy for your initiative.
• Guide AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to produce production‑ready code, and ensure quality through prompts, evals, tests, and review gates.
• Partner daily with the PM and designer on scope, trade‑offs, and UX decisions; collaborate with engineering peers and report outcomes to the Engineering Manager.
• Own the initiative’s metric, present post‑launch results 2‑4 weeks after release, and iterate based on data.

Required profile

• AI‑native engineer who uses Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or equivalent daily and can craft effective prompts, evals, and review loops.
• Lead‑level experience making technical decisions, shipping complex features, and standing behind outcomes.
• Outcome‑driven mindset, measuring success by metric movement and user experience improvements.
• Strong horizontal collaborator who can hold their own with PMs, designers, and peers in a shared codebase.
