Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

Nango, a YC‑backed developer infrastructure company, is looking for a Staff Platform Engineer to own and scale the cloud platform that powers its open‑source API integration product. This remote role will drive the architecture, reliability, and security of both Nango’s own infrastructure and the BYOC deployments used by its enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale compute, networking, and data layers on AWS (and multi‑cloud) environments.
• Lead the BYOC product: provisioning, upgrades, observability, and multi‑tenant isolation.
• Productize IaC and GitOps workflows to enable rapid, reliable shipping.
• Define and enforce SLOs, incident response processes, and reliability as a product feature.
• Own the data stack (PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, ClickHouse) at growing scale.
• Manage security and compliance initiatives (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, enterprise reviews).
• Contribute to roadmap and strategic decisions with high ownership.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles at staff level.
• Deep production experience with Kubernetes and strong judgment on its use.
• Proven ability to operate software in customer‑controlled environments (BYOC, single‑tenant, on‑prem, air‑gapped).
• Extensive AWS expertise; exposure to GCP and Azure is a plus.
• Hands‑on Terraform usage with modular, multi‑account designs.
• Strong background with PostgreSQL and other databases at scale.
• Direct experience with compliance audits (SOC 2, ISO) and security reviews.
• Product mindset, developer empathy, and excellent remote communication skills.
