Senior Software Engineer – Insurance (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in the insurance domain to join BairesDev’s remote team. You will lead the design and modernization of core insurance systems, ensuring high performance and reliability for policy administration, claims, and underwriting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable backend services for policy administration and claims management.
• Lead legacy modernization initiatives, migrating core platforms to modern architectures.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to implement complex business logic across life, property & casualty, and commercial auto lines.
• Optimize performance and reliability of underwriting systems to support high‑volume transactions.
• Define best practices and provide architectural guidance for insurance‑focused products.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on the insurance sector.
• Proven track record in developing and modernizing policy administration, claims, and underwriting systems.
• Strong understanding of life, P&C, and commercial auto insurance processes.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Experience with backend development and legacy system modernization.
