Senior Software Applications Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Applications Engineer to provide engineering support for large, complex applications and projects. You will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining application components while ensuring compliance with project standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement basic requirements, configure, program and test application and technical architecture components.
• Perform build, deployment, and defect fixing for development, QA, and UAT environments.
• Review design, coding and unit testing to ensure adherence to project standards.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts to understand requirements, develop sizing, and create use‑case documentation.
• Deploy QAT/UAT environments independently and work closely with testing teams to resolve regression issues.
• Explore alternative solutions using DAR techniques and participate in code reviews.
• Maintain integrity of pre‑production environments (development, test, QA, staging).
• Lead process‑improvement and technical‑automation initiatives, provide status updates, and mentor less‑experienced team members.

Required profile

• University degree in Information Technology or equivalent, accredited by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Programming: Genexus 11 or higher, J2EE.Net, PL/SQL, COBOL
• BPMN2 modeling
• RPA development
• Jira Software / Service Desk modeling and configuration
• Technical English reading comprehension
