Senior QA Engineer (Remote)

About the role

MakaiMakai is seeking a proactive Senior QA Engineer to join its fully remote team. You will be the hands‑on quality champion, driving reliability, performance, and user satisfaction across complex web applications.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end QA lifecycle: analyse requirements, design test strategies, execute tests and report release readiness.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, compatibility and exploratory testing manually.
• Conduct API testing with Postman and validate backend logic using complex SQL queries.
• Manage defect lifecycle: identify, document, track and verify fixes in close collaboration with developers.
• Advocate quality best practices and provide feedback during grooming and sprint planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex web applications.
• Strong grasp of modern QA methodologies, test design techniques and the full SDLC/STLC within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
• Proficiency in writing and executing complex SQL queries for data validation.
• Ability to read JavaScript, TypeScript or Python code to support test analysis.
• Excellent analytical mindset, attention to detail and fluent English communication.
