Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Remote (contract via Deel)

About the role

The Foundational Infrastructure Compute team at Compass is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help build and evolve a cloud‑native Kubernetes platform. This remote, contract position works on multi‑cloud compute infrastructure using modern tools such as Kubernetes, KEDA and Argo.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, scale, deploy and maintain a Kubernetes compute platform on AWS EKS using Infrastructure as Code.
• Automate operational tasks and manual processes with Go or Python.
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot production incidents using observability tools.
• Partner with application teams to understand compute requirements and guide platform usage.
• Document infrastructure designs and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience, preferably with Go and Python.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Experience provisioning cloud compute resources and working with Kubernetes.
• Strong desire to grow in platform engineering and cloud‑native technologies.
