Senior Android Engineer (Remote, Uruguay)

About the role

Kake is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to design and deliver high‑impact mobile solutions. Working fully remote from Uruguay, you will join a cross‑functional team that values ownership, pragmatic problem‑solving, and clean engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Translate product and design specs into technical tasks and own feature delivery from development to production deployment.
• Architect, build, and maintain resilient, well‑tested native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Design robust network layers, caching strategies, and offline‑first workflows.
• Integrate third‑party SDKs, hardware capabilities, and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Create modern, responsive UI with Jetpack Compose while ensuring high performance and smooth animations.
• Participate in technical design reviews, set Android engineering and testing standards, and leverage AI‑assisted development tools.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in native Android development.
• Proven track record of taking greenfield products from concept to launch.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced remote environment.
