Proxy Network Engineer

About the role

SearchApi is looking for a hands‑on engineer to design and build a brand‑new proxy infrastructure from the ground up. You will work on a greenfield project that powers billions of real‑time search requests for Fortune‑500 customers and fast‑moving startups.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy a custom reverse‑proxy platform (not just configure existing tools).
• Implement IP rotation, session management, sticky sessions, and intelligent routing across residential, mobile, datacenter and ISP proxy pools.
• Design geo‑targeting capabilities down to country, city and ASN level.
• Monitor, score, and optimise IP health, reputation and bandwidth usage.
• Handle low‑level networking concerns: TCP/UDP tuning, socket management, DNS, routing, connection pooling and concurrent limits.
• Support multiple protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5) and modern versions (HTTP/2, HTTP/3).

Required profile

• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and Linux networking stack.
• Experience building high‑performance, low‑latency network services at scale.
• Comfortable evaluating and extending AI‑assisted development tools.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently on a fast‑moving, bootstrapped team.
