Principal Engineer – Cyberbank Core

About the role

Galileo is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the Cyberbank Core team, shaping the next‑generation lean core banking platform. This senior technical contributor will drive architecture, guide multiple engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of secure, high‑performance banking services at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own the long‑term software architecture and roadmap for core banking services, data pipelines, and API platform.
• Develop high‑quality code, set engineering standards, and mentor engineers across the organization.
• Define boundaries, APIs, and integrations between internal teams, clients, and partners across geographies.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, data, and executive stakeholders to align technical strategy with business goals.
• Identify critical problems, prioritize initiatives, and champion organizational priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior software engineer or principal engineer in a fintech or payments environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross‑functional projects and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on security, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills to work with engineering, product, compliance, and executive stakeholders.
