Junior Mission Systems Engineer

About the role

Satellogic is seeking a Junior Mission Systems Engineer to join its Mission Engineering and Planning team. You will work on the design, development, and operation of core planning services that schedule satellite activities such as imagery captures, ground‑station contacts, and orbit design.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze complex data sets to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities through constellation simulations and trade‑off assessments.
• Contribute to the full lifecycle of planning services, including development, testing, maintenance, and operation of REST APIs and backend algorithms.
• Build internal tools and APIs that streamline daily analysis and data retrieval for engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Systems, AOCS, and Software Development teams to ensure mission requirements are met.

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work on multidisciplinary projects.
• Willingness to receive mentorship from senior engineers and contribute to team goals.
