Frontend Engineer (GIS & Data Visualization)

About the role

We are looking for a Mid‑to‑Senior Frontend Engineer who will design and deliver intuitive, data‑driven web applications focused on geospatial visualisation. You will turn complex operational and location‑based data into interactive maps and dashboards that are performant, accessible and easy to use.

Key responsibilities

• Build and enhance large‑scale interactive maps with layer controls, colour‑coding and manual overrides.
• Develop operational dashboards that translate complex datasets into clear, actionable UI components.
• Implement WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards across all frontend features.
• Collaborate with the delivery team using documented designs, code reviews, Git workflows and ticket‑based processes.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve coding efficiency and quality.
• Participate in beta testing, defect resolution, UI refinements and overall application hardening.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Availability to maintain at least 4 hours overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.
• Experience working in structured delivery environments with ticket‑based workflows.

Required skills

• Modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• React or Angular frameworks.
• ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, MapLibre, Leaflet or Google Maps for web mapping.
• Data‑visualisation libraries and dashboard development.
• Implementation of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements.
• Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
• AI‑assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or similar.
