Firmware Engineer II – Embedded Medical Devices

About the role

We are seeking a Firmware Engineer II to join Integer’s medical‑device team. In this position you will create and maintain embedded firmware for both implantable and non‑implantable devices, supporting the company’s mission to improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document and maintain firmware for implantable pulse generators, chargers and related accessories.
• Participate in firmware requirements analysis and produce design documentation.
• Execute integration, stress and regression tests to verify firmware performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure safety, security, manufacturability and scalability of medical systems.
• Research and develop new processes and technologies for next‑generation devices.
• Support investigations of customer inquiries and device issues together with Quality Engineering.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives, innovation strategies and process optimization while adhering to QMS, FDA and other regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of medical device regulations (FDA, QMS) is beneficial.
