Electronics Engineer – Radio, Sensing & Edge Infrastructure

About the role

You will join Kunstig Aero's hardware team and own the end‑to‑end systems that enable autonomous air‑traffic control: VHF radio chains, surveillance receivers, multi‑camera rigs, weather stations, edge compute, and off‑grid power. Your work will turn theoretical concepts into 24/7 operations at live aerodromes, often in locations with no existing digital infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and validate RF front‑ends, analog interfaces, IoT nodes, and off‑grid power subsystems.
• Prototype quickly on Arduino, ESP32, STM32 and related platforms.
• Integrate ADS‑B, Mode S, MLAT, AIS and other aeronautical surveillance protocols.
• Build autonomous weather stations and size solar‑powered off‑grid systems.
• Deploy mesh and point‑to‑point networks in infrastructure‑free sites.
• Perform measurements with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs and low‑noise multimeters.
• Collaborate with firmware, embedded and AI teams to move prototypes to commissioned aerodromes.
• Document results clearly for iterative development.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in electronics, embedded systems, RF or communications.
• Proven track record designing or deploying field‑ready hardware systems.
• Hands‑on experience with aeronautical surveillance technologies.
• Ability to work autonomously in remote, infrastructure‑limited environments.

Required skills

• VHF radio chain design, full‑duplex tower‑frequency operation.
• ADS‑B / Mode S / MLAT / AIS protocols.
• RF front‑end and analog interface design.
• Microcontrollers (Arduino, ESP32, STM32).
• Radar and SDR tools (GNU Radio, USRP, HackRF).
• Off‑grid solar power sizing, MPPT, remote monitoring.
• Mesh networking and point‑to‑point link deployment.
• Python, MATLAB for data analysis and scripting.
• EDA tools (Altium, KiCad) and circuit simulation.
