Software Engineer

About the role

Lightspeed is looking for a Software Engineer to join its data conversion team. You will work on the tools that migrate new dealer data into the Evolution platform, helping to modernise the conversion process.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Conversion IDE, a C#/.NET desktop application used by onboarding specialists.
• Integrate product updates into the C# NuGet package used in the field.
• Design and build backend services and APIs with .NET 8 as the team moves toward a service‑oriented architecture.
• Handle large, complex datasets and database operations, supporting full data migrations between databases.
• Own both development and quality assurance for conversion tooling, troubleshooting and fixing bugs.
• Provide occasional support for a related Angular front‑end application.
• Participate in code reviews, write clear technical documentation, and use AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate work.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong C# and object‑oriented programming skills.
• Experience with Angular, Entity Framework, and SQL (PostgreSQL) on large data sets.
• Knowledge of software design patterns such as factory and dependency injection.
• Proven ability to identify, resolve, and drive bugs to completion.
• Excellent communication, collaborative mindset, and strong organisational abilities.
