Senior iOS Video Engineer (Remote, Uruguay)

About the role

Kake is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to build high-quality, scalable applications across iPhone, iPad, tvOS and desktop platforms. The role is hands-on, working with Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit, and involves close collaboration with product and design teams. It is fully remote, with a 6-8 hour time zone overlap with PST.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI and UIKit.
• Build reusable UI components, shared libraries and modular architectures.
• Translate requirements and Figma designs into polished user experiences with product and design teams.
• Integrate data-driven features using REST APIs, JSON-RPC, gRPC and WebSockets.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimize performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Manage the full iOS lifecycle, from implementation and testing to App Store submission and maintenance.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and contribute to continuous delivery.
• Develop tvOS components such as focus-based navigation, remote interactions and media playback with AVKit and AVFoundation.
• Contribute to cross-platform initiatives with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) or similar shared-code architectures.
• Apply automated testing, integration testing, code coverage, monitoring and alerting best practices.
• Take part in on-call rotations and incident management.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial iOS development experience, shipping high-quality applications.
• Experience in multi-developer environments, including App Store builds, submission and deployment.
• Hands-on experience integrating REST APIs, JSON-RPC, gRPC and WebSockets.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and implementing Figma designs.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or similar shared-code architectures.
• Experience with tvOS development and media playback optimization.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and clear communication of technical concepts.
