Legal Counsel – Corporate & Compliance

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join BASF’s Corporate Legal team at the Montevideo Shared Service Center. The role supports BASF divisions across the Americas, Europe and Asia on legal and compliance matters, providing modern, customer‑oriented solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal and compliance support to businesses worldwide, ensuring alignment with internal standards.
• Conduct complex contractual analysis, drafting and negotiation of high‑complexity agreements.
• Maintain and enhance legal tools such as TrustBase, OneTrust, ICM and the CLM platform.
• Prepare contract status reports, key metrics and performance indicators for management.
• Create and manage a centralized repository of contracts and related documents.
• Develop training materials and deliver user training for legal and compliance tools.
• Lead projects handling large volumes of contracts under tight deadlines.
• Identify process improvements and support implementation of model contracts and clauses.

Required profile

• University degree in Law.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience.
• Admission to practice law in the United States is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of common‑law systems; familiarity with Brazilian law is a plus.
