Legal Associate – KYC Compliance (Contractor)

About the role

Kalexius is expanding its Compliance team in Montevideo and seeks a Legal Associate to conduct Know‑Your‑Client (KYC) processes for its clients. The position is based onsite at the WTC and operates on a contractor basis.

Key responsibilities

• Review documentation received from legal entities and individuals within standardized KYC procedures.
• Conduct enhanced background checks and due‑diligence investigations.
• Liaise with stakeholders to expedite the KYC workflow.
• Analyze red flags and assess risks based on corporate structures and background reports.
• Draft comprehensive KYC reports and related documentation upon completion of each case.

Required profile

• Law degree; a compliance diploma or specialization is a plus.
• Junior to mid‑level experience.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional languages are advantageous.
• Strong interest in compliance with prior experience in third‑party due‑diligence checks.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience using SharePoint.
• Comfortable with web‑based tools and platforms.
