Lead Data Engineer

About the role

Blend is looking for a Lead Data Engineer to drive the design and implementation of enterprise‑wide data pipelines that feed AI and analytics workloads. You will work across more than 80 ERP systems, ensuring data is transformed, validated, and ready for consumption in Microsoft Fabric.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct gap analysis and data mapping across multiple ERP sources to identify integration challenges.
• Design, build, and standardise ETL pipelines that migrate data into Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop data quality frameworks and validation rules to guarantee AI‑ready data.
• Lead the pilot implementation, test standards with real ERP data, and refine processes before full rollout.
• Mentor team members on ETL development, data transformation techniques, and Fabric engineering practices.
• Document data lineage, transformation logic, and integration patterns for governance.
• Troubleshoot data inconsistencies and implement corrective measures throughout the pipeline.

Required profile

• Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex transformations and performance tuning.
• Strong Python skills for automation and pipeline orchestration.
• Hands‑on experience designing ETL solutions in multi‑source, large‑scale environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems and large‑scale data integration.
• Solid understanding of the Azure ecosystem and practical experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities with a focus on scalability and maintainability.
