IT Infrastructure Engineer (Remote, Full‑time Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to modernise and maintain the cloud and on‑premise infrastructure of a remote‑first law firm. The role is fully remote, supporting US Eastern Time hours, and is offered on a contract basis.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 solutions, including Azure Virtual Desktop deployments.
• Manage device lifecycle with Microsoft Intune – app deployment, patching, and endpoint policy enforcement.
• Monitor and optimise infrastructure costs, providing regular reporting and recommendations.
• Document architecture, processes and procedures, and deliver training to the IT support team.
• Develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Bicep or Terraform and collaborate on security policy implementation.
• Explore and integrate AI‑driven automation tools into operational workflows.
• Support backup, disaster‑recovery strategies and virtualisation platforms such as Nutanix, VMware, Citrix and Hyper‑V.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on infrastructure or cloud engineering experience.
• Proven production experience with Microsoft Azure and hybrid identity (Active Directory, Entra ID).
• Strong scripting/automation skills in PowerShell and/or Python.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work asynchronously in a distributed team.
