Human Resources Director – School (Uruguay)

About the role

The Human Resources Director will partner with the senior leadership team of a Nord Anglia school in Uruguay, overseeing all HR functions and ensuring alignment with regional HR policies and the school’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior leadership on HR strategy, compliance, and performance management.
• Oversee payroll processing, benefits administration, and HRIS data integrity.
• Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and employer branding initiatives.
• Manage employee relations, international assignee support, and investigations.
• Coordinate talent mapping, succession planning and leadership development.
• Drive engagement surveys, analyze results and implement action plans.
• Conduct compensation benchmarking and manage benefits communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience as HR Manager or Business Partner, including payroll and complex employee‑relations.
• In‑depth knowledge of Uruguay labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and SuccessFactors HRIS.
• Strong analytical, cross‑cultural communication and time‑management skills.
• Results‑oriented mindset with ability to meet KPIs.
• Preferred experience in an educational setting and knowledge of visa processes.
