Head of People

About the role

We are a small, fast‑growing, fully remote organization seeking a Head of People to own the entire people function—from hiring and onboarding to culture and leadership development. You will bring a warm, solutions‑oriented mindset to support and align our team as we scale.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the interview pipeline for open roles, coordinating candidates with internal stakeholders to keep qualified talent flowing.
• Partner with leadership on capacity planning, flag hiring needs, and ensure budget alignment before opening positions.
• Lead salary negotiations, create clear compliant contracts, and oversee smooth onboarding for new hires.
• Navigate the legal and tax nuances of hiring employees and contractors across U.S. states and internationally.
• Act as a trusted, approachable resource for team members, offering coaching support for workplace challenges.
• Identify organizational gaps and launch new people initiatives such as performance reviews, learning & development, and culture programs.
• Support leadership with day‑to‑day HR needs while maintaining a relationship‑first approach.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in HR or People Operations.
• Background in small businesses or startups that have grown from ~8 to 40‑50 employees.
• Proven experience negotiating compensation and managing full‑cycle onboarding.
• Strong verbal and written English with a warm, people‑first communication style.
