GMP Technician

About the role

The GMP Technician keeps assigned areas clean and orderly in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. The role involves working with colleagues, following verbal and written instructions, supporting the shift lead and maintaining a professional appearance and conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures; stop risky behaviour of others and yourself
• Perform repetitive tasks and maintain a clean work area
• Follow customer and SBM SOPs and procedures, and respond to customer requests professionally
• Perform sanitization duties to maintain a GMP-controlled environment
• Be fully trained in area job functions for the assigned shift and area, including walls, floors, windows, wipe-downs, maintenance issue reporting and shut-down cleaning
• Complete daily FN logs accurately and completely
• Be trained and certified in correct gowning for the assigned area, and complete basic training modules and annual qualification trainings per customer SOPs
• Complete safety certifications, including chemical safety; forklift certification may be required
• Support the shift lead with punch-list items and work orders, and act as area fill-in when staff are short

Required profile

• High school diploma / GED preferred
• 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification is a plus
• A valid driver's license may be required depending on business needs; drivers must hold an acceptable MVR and meet company driving eligibility

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals and documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and compounds, and their safe use

Physical demands include frequent sitting and talking or listening, and the ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Benefits are available through the employer's benefit package.
