General Manager - Automotive Dealer Network

About the role

General Motors is hiring a General Manager in Montevideo to work with the dealer network. The hybrid model requires on-site presence three days a week, with less than 25% travel. The role is responsible for driving sales and after-sales results, improving customer retention and market penetration, and increasing profitability for GM and the dealers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies and tactical plans to grow sales, improve customer retention, market penetration and customer satisfaction, and boost profitability for GM and the dealer network.
• Incentivize, coordinate and follow up on innovative ideas, projects and changes that improve the business.
• Drive sales and after-sales objectives for the zone and support engagement efforts.
• Drive communication that supports the business's market plans.
• Mentor, lead and grow talent.
• Coordinate dealer contractual agreements and ensure compliance with retail and parts sales performance, customer happiness and dealer profitability.
• Ensure accurate use of empowerment tools and inspire teams and customers to reach business goals.

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field; postgraduate studies or specializations in sales management, business or marketing are a plus.
• Experience in field sales roles managing territories or key accounts, within the automotive industry or involving distributor networks.
• Advanced level English (mandatory).
• Valid driver's license.
