General Accounting Specialist

About the role

The General Accounting Specialist will join the local Finance team supporting Animal Health entities across Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia. The role ensures accurate recording, reconciliation and month‑end close of financial operations while complying with internal policies and local/international accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Record recurring and non‑recurring accounting entries with full traceability.
• Prepare monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Draft working papers, perform variance analysis and post accounting adjustments.
• Produce financial statements in accordance with applicable local standards.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, providing documentation and explanations.
• Supply tax advisors with data for income tax, transfer pricing and tax provisions.
• Identify automation opportunities using tools, macros and artificial‑intelligence techniques.
• Serve as a reference point for other departments on transaction, procedure and control queries.
• Participate in finance system implementation projects and maintain internal controls.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in multinational companies or Big Four audit firms.
• Advanced English for oral and written communication with global teams.
• Previous experience with SAP is considered an asset.
