Financial Accountant – LATAM

About the role

The Financial Accountant – LATAM will join the Accounting & Ledger Control team, supporting Trafigura’s entities across Latin America. The role ensures clean trial balances, manages general ledger activities and contributes to monthly group reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain clean trial balances for local and group reporting.
• Perform general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals and adjustments.
• Conduct account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and external parties.
• Support the preparation of monthly group reporting and other financial reporting requirements.
• Produce financial and operational reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Execute data and accounting controls to comply with standards and procedures.
• Analyze accounting information to identify discrepancies, trends and issues.
• Document accounting and reporting processes and suggest improvements.
• Assist internal and external audit requests, providing required documentation.
• Participate in system and software development projects, including testing and validation.
• Carry out administrative and operational tasks to support the team.
• Provide ad‑hoc accounting, reporting, documentation and analysis support as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably in general ledger, financial accounting or reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a student close to graduation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and large‑dataset analysis.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits.
• Strong English communication skills (B2 level) and excellent Spanish proficiency (C2 level).
