About the role

The Customs Specialist will support GXO's fast, intelligent supply‑chain operations in Uruguay. You will handle administrative processes related to import‑export activities, ensuring documentation, records and performance indicators are accurate and compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Support reception and dispatch of merchandise, coordinating priorities with supervisors.
• Prepare and manage all documentation for inbound and outbound shipments.
• Reconcile inventory between transport documents, receipts and shipments.
• Identify and help resolve operational and inventory discrepancies.
• Manage transfers, adjustments and shipment validations in the Free Zone system.
• Coordinate retention or quarantine of shipments when required.
• Maintain constant communication with the TC Manager, customs brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure continuity of operations during manager absences and escalate complex regulatory issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Administration, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum two years of logistics operations experience, specifically in a free‑zone environment.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
