Dietary Aide – Full Time

About the role

The Dietary Aide supports the kitchen team by preparing, serving, and cleaning meals in a fast‑paced food service environment. Reporting to the Cook and Dietary Supervisor, the role ensures that trays are set up, dishes are washed, and the work area remains sanitary.

Key responsibilities

• Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals and snacks.
• Strip down and wash returned trays, operate and monitor the dishwasher, and record chlorine concentration and water temperature.
• Prepare simple nourishments and snacks, sweep and mop kitchen floors, and maintain clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Handle trash and garbage, store groceries safely, and keep the kitchen orderly.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to learn food‑service routines quickly and follow technical procedures and recipes.
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and portions.
• Problem‑solving ability and capacity to interpret written and oral instructions.
• Must obtain and maintain a food‑handler’s certificate.

Required skills

• Food safety and hygiene practices.
• Operation of commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform frequent standing, walking, and reaching.
