Database Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Database Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain high‑performance database systems for large‑scale, distributed applications. The role is fully remote and involves close collaboration with application and backend teams to ensure data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and efficient.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain relational and non‑relational database solutions.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database structures for maximum performance.
• Analyze and improve database internals and query engine behavior.
• Monitor, tune, and ensure scalability and reliability of database services.
• Develop backup, recovery, and high‑availability strategies.
• Evaluate and integrate new database technologies and tools.
• Mentor team members on best practices in database design and optimization.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience with databases, SQL optimization, and query engine tuning.
• Strong background in software architecture and system security.
• In‑depth knowledge of memory management and performance optimization.
• Experience designing distributed, cloud‑based solutions.
• Ability to assess and choose appropriate architectures and technologies.
• Expertise in managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
