Data QA Engineer

About the role

SunnyData is a leading Databricks technology partner that builds scalable data architectures, robust pipelines and AI‑driven applications. As a Data QA Engineer you will translate business requirements into test plans, execute and automate tests, and ensure the reliability of data across the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain test plans and test cases that trace back to business requirements.
• Execute functional, regression and data‑validation tests on pipelines, transformations, databases and APIs.
• Document test results, track defects and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues.
• Validate data accuracy, consistency and integrity across applications and data stores.
• Establish testing standards, processes and best practices, leveraging AI tools to improve automation coverage.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably with data‑focused testing.
• Hands‑on experience testing data pipelines, transformations, databases or data‑driven applications.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Test automation with Playwright or Cypress.
• Strong SQL querying and data validation skills.
• API testing experience.
• Version control with GitHub and CI/CD pipeline integration.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and AI‑assisted testing tools.
