Corporate Lawyer – Energy & Oil & Gas

About the role

Pluspetrol is seeking a Corporate Lawyer to provide strategic legal advice across its business units, including operations in Uruguay and other locations without dedicated legal departments. You will ensure that the group’s interests are protected in all contracts, negotiations, and transactions while proactively managing legal and regulatory risks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal advice in the negotiation, drafting, and review of commercial contracts with suppliers and customers.
• Participate in defining legal and contractual strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Provide legal support to Uruguay and other business units lacking internal legal structures.
• Monitor commercial disputes with clients, suppliers, and partners, coordinating with external counsel.
• Manage relationships with external legal advisors to safeguard the company’s interests.

Required profile

• Law degree (Abogacía) with at least 6 years of corporate legal experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Natural Resources.
• Proven experience in commercial contract negotiation and drafting.
• Background in top-tier law firms with exposure to corporate law, M&A, or energy regulation (desired).
• Advanced proficiency in English.
