Concentrates Operator

About the role

Trafigura is looking for a Concentrates Operator in Montevideo. The role covers organizing the shipment of concentrates by sea, land and air, including cargo handling, insurance, invoicing, credit control and coordination with service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Organize bulk, container and truck shipments of concentrates: packing, loading, discharge, transport, transshipment and storage.
• Arrange cargo insurance during transport and storage.
• Prepare and submit commercial cargo invoices to receivers and suppliers, coordinate invoice settlement with Trade Finance, manage and report cash and credit exposures with counterparties.
• Work with forwarders, shipping agents, warehouses and surveyors: screen locations, prepare service agreements, arrange payments and control service quality.
• Organize operations for weighing, sampling and assaying of cargo, coordinating with surveyors and laboratories.
• Handle price-hedging of concentrate shipments and enter data into the system, working with exposure and cargo reports.

Required profile

• Advanced student or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, International Business or a related field.
• Fluent English (intermediate or B2 equivalent).
• Excellent Spanish (native or C2 equivalent).
• Numerical skills and logical thinking; hard-working and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
