Civil Engineer with Python – AI Trainer (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

We are creating a talent pool of civil engineers who are proficient in Python to help evaluate and improve frontier AI models. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing simulation‑based challenges that test the limits of AI in structural and geotechnical contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Select and configure a civil‑engineering simulation package (e.g., OpenSeesPy, CalculiX, YADE, bempp‑cl) to create problems that require the tool’s core capabilities.
• Develop complete Python scripts, including input files, geometry, and boundary conditions, to run the simulations.
• Define numerical outputs and tolerance thresholds, then run the problems against AI models, adjusting difficulty to achieve a 10‑30% pass rate.
• Iteratively tune load cases, boundary conditions, and solver parameters based on AI performance.
• Submit completed tasks to a senior reviewer for feedback and final approval.

Required profile

• Academic background in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience in engineering research, applied work, or teaching.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, fully remote environment.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Experience with at least one domain‑specific civil‑engineering simulation tool (OpenSeesPy, CalculiX, YADE, bempp‑cl).
• Familiarity with Linux and containerized or sandboxed execution environments.
