Chief Housekeeper (Cruise Ship)

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping department aboard our luxury cruise vessel. The role ensures the delivery of high‑quality, efficient and personalized cleaning and butler services across guest suites, public areas and back‑of‑house spaces, while maintaining strict public‑health standards and striving for total guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all housekeeping operations, providing premium butler and cleaning services to guests and crew.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of the ship to verify standards, address issues promptly and ensure smooth operation.
• Interact proactively with guests to identify expectations, respond to requests, enquiries and complaints immediately.
• Manage the housekeeping team’s schedule, training, coaching and performance, ensuring equitable in‑port manning.
• Monitor guest satisfaction through comment cards and rating scores, and prepare cruise reports with improvement recommendations.
• Perform VIP and suite checks at embarkation, and carry out random inspections throughout the cruise.
• Maintain confidential employee records, logs, product and service standards, and ensure compliance with public‑health requirements.
• Liaise with HR on personnel matters, corrective actions and crew meetings to communicate essential information.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing housekeeping operations on a cruise ship or comparable hospitality environment.
• Strong people‑management skills with the ability to lead, train and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent guest‑service orientation and ability to handle complaints and special requests efficiently.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other ship departments and uphold confidentiality.
