Assistant Coordinator – Ceibal en Inglés

About the role

An experienced English teacher is sought to join the Ceibal en Inglés team in Montevideo. The role combines direct teaching as a Remote Teacher with pedagogical support for other teachers, working closely with the Institute Coordinator. It suits someone who enjoys teaching, reflecting on classroom practice and supporting colleagues' professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver English lessons as a Remote Teacher, following the programme's guidelines, lesson plans and procedures, with a student-centred approach.
• Support teachers in improving lesson delivery, scaffolding, modelling, instruction-giving, pacing, classroom management and student engagement.
• Answer pedagogical queries and give practical guidance on lesson planning and implementation.
• Follow up on agreed action points and monitor progress over time.
• Encourage reflective practice and continuous professional development.
• Work with the Institute Coordinator to monitor teaching quality and identify support and training needs.
• Help develop and share pedagogical resources and good practices, and promote consistent standards across the team.

Required profile

• Degree in English Language Teaching and advanced English proficiency (mandatory).
• Previous experience in Ceibal en Inglés for Primary (mandatory).
• Academic Management Certification (preferable).
• Experience developing teaching materials or delivering professional development sessions (preferable).
• Experience in teacher training, mentoring, tutoring or lesson observation (preferable).
