Adult Education Program Manager

About the role

The Adult Education Program Manager leads the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Adult Education, ESOL, and Financial Empowerment services. This position provides instructional leadership, supports instructors, and integrates financial literacy initiatives such as the VITA tax program to promote self‑sufficiency for adult learners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for ESOL and Adult Education programs, including curriculum quality, lesson planning, and instructional delivery (in‑person and online).
• Supervise, mentor, and coach instructors through observations, professional development, and staff meetings.
• Coordinate assessments (e.g., BEST Plus), ensure compliance with program standards, and maintain accurate data entry.
• Advise students on academic pathways, employment transitions, and further education opportunities.
• Manage recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and retention strategies.
• Lead Financial Empowerment initiatives and oversee the VITA tax program, ensuring IRS compliance, volunteer recruitment, training, and site operations.
• Design and deliver financial literacy workshops and provide individual financial coaching.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance service delivery and participant outcomes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (required).
• Minimum three years of relevant experience, preferably in ESOL or adult education.
• Experience supervising or mentoring instructional staff.
• Familiarity with financial empowerment programs and tax preparation services.
