Administrative & Finance Associate (GS-6) – Montevideo

About the role

The Administrative & Finance Associate supports UNICEF Uruguay’s Operations function by ensuring that specialised administrative and financial processes run smoothly and comply with UNICEF standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the associate works closely with programme, fundraising, external relations and regional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor specialised administrative processes, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules, delegated authorities and office SOPs.
• Provide budget and financial monitoring, payment and invoice processing, and vendor contracting support.
• Offer guidance to staff on documentation standards, workflow steps and system procedures.
• Identify and resolve process issues, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of office workflows and client‑oriented services.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of UNICEF administrative and financial rules, procedures and internal controls.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive problem‑solver capable of providing reliable operational guidance.
• Experience in administrative and finance support within an international or non‑profit environment is preferred.
