Accounting Specialist

About the role

The Accounting Specialist will manage the full Accounts Receivable (A/R) cycle for Nexion Travel Group's US business unit. This position ensures accurate processing of invoices, cash receipts, and commission payouts while supporting month‑end and year‑end close activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily A/R cash receipts, including checks, credit cards, wires, and ACH payments.
• Generate and post A/R invoices and accruals.
• Maintain the A/R database and monitor aging reports.
• Reconcile cash registers, prepare cash journal entries, and balance cash monthly.
• Assist with balance‑sheet reconciliations, event revenue accruals, and month‑end/year‑end journal entries.
• Handle commission payouts to Nexion advisors twice a month.
• Support the annual financial audit and respond to internal and external inquiries.
• Participate in special projects and ad‑hoc accounting tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• At least two years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in A/R operations.
• Self‑motivated team player capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• AgentMate platform.
• Proficiency in accounts‑receivable processing.
• Experience with cash receipt handling and journal entry preparation.
