Accountant – Real Estate Experience Required

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented accountant with real‑estate experience to join our back‑office team. Working as an independent contractor, you will support multiple high‑growth clients by delivering accurate financial reporting and accounting services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting for several clients, including AP/AR, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Prepare, review and analyse monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulations, addressing discrepancies proactively.
• Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis as required.
• Support tax compliance by preparing documentation, coordinating with external tax advisors and assisting with audit requests.
• Build and maintain relationships with client stakeholders, providing insights to improve financial operations.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, including real‑estate industry exposure.
• Fluent English (B2+), comfortable communicating with high‑profile clients.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with a growth mindset.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
• Willingness to work as an independent contractor.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAGE accounting software.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Advanced Excel skills.
