Senior Software Engineer (Golang)

About the role

FusionHit is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Golang to join its fast‑paced cybersecurity team. You will own and evolve core applications that power a Managed Detection and Response (MDR) platform, collaborating with cross‑functional groups to deliver secure, high‑performance infrastructure at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑own and maintain multiple Go applications that form the backbone of the MDR platform.
• Maintain and enhance a high‑performance log analytics engine processing events from thousands of sources.
• Develop post‑processing programs that turn engine output into actionable intelligence for SOC analysts.
• Maintain a multi‑tenant secure syslog server cluster for ingesting, buffering, and routing logs.
• Build and support a cross‑platform security agent providing endpoint visibility.
• Make architectural decisions and influence design reviews across platform components.
• Lead code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and assist with onboarding and hiring.
• Define and document internal SOPs and best practices for software development.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on Go development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and security operations.
• Experience with zero‑downtime deployments and production incident response.

Required skills

• Golang (standard library, goroutine lifecycle, channels, interfaces, generics).
• Thread‑safe data structures, worker‑pool patterns, memory‑efficient coding.
• Context usage for deadline management and cancellation.
• GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS ECS/EC2 (or equivalent cloud infrastructure).
• Redis, OpenSearch (or similar), SQL databases with query optimization.
• Networking protocols, TLS, firewalls, and application‑level security.
• Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure monitoring, observability.
