Semi Senior Electrical Engineer (Uruguay)

About the role

RedtreeRedtree Engineering, part of CSI's global network, is seeking a Semi Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Electrical Engineering team. You will contribute to the design, development, and execution of power system projects, working under senior engineers and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical engineering designs, one‑line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts and related documentation.
• Support design and specification of medium‑ and high‑voltage systems, including substations, transformers, switchgear, grounding, and protection & control.
• Perform electrical studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, arc‑flash, protection coordination and grounding, with senior engineer review.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to obtain technical information and equipment data.
• Participate in client meetings, technical reviews and assist multidisciplinary teams in delivering constructible solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering projects.
• Upper‑intermediate to advanced English (written and spoken).
• Hands‑on experience in electrical power systems design.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Electrical power systems design.
• Load flow, short‑circuit, arc‑flash, protection coordination and grounding studies.
• Use of analysis tools such as ETAP, PowerWorld, SIMSEE.
• AutoCAD for electrical schematics and layouts.
• Knowledge of ANSI and ISO standards.
• Experience with GIS (Gas Insulated Substation) projects.
