Semi Senior Electrical Engineer (Montevideo)

About the role

RedtreeRedtree Engineering is seeking a Semi Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Montevideo team. You will work on national and international power‑system projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary groups and senior engineers to deliver high‑impact solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs, one‑line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts and related documentation under senior supervision.
• Support specification and design of medium‑ and high‑voltage systems, including substations, transformers, switchgear, grounding and protection.
• Perform electrical studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, arc‑flash, protection coordination and grounding.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to obtain technical data and equipment information.
• Participate in client meetings, technical reviews and multidisciplinary solution development.
• Assist junior engineers and interns as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering projects.
• Upper‑intermediate to advanced English (written and spoken).
• Hands‑on experience in electrical power‑systems design.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Electrical power‑systems design.
• ETAP, PowerWorld, SIMSEE or AutoCAD for analysis and design.
• Load‑flow, short‑circuit, arc‑flash and protection‑coordination studies.
• Grounding design and implementation.
• Knowledge of ANSI and ISO standards.
