Risk and Market Analyst

About the role

As a Risk and Market Analyst in the Metals and Minerals Deals Desk, you will support the trading team by monitoring performance, managing deal economics and ensuring accurate PnL reporting in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end PnL process from deal inception to final reconciliation, aligning with commercial and financial reporting requirements.
• Monitor daily PnL and market exposure, providing clear commentary on variances caused by market conditions, pricing and basis risk.
• Develop and maintain forward curves to mark‑to‑market open positions, applying knowledge of market fundamentals and structures.
• Execute and allocate hedging and pricing actions within the trading system to support risk mitigation.
• Maintain data integrity across trading platforms, ensuring reliable PnL and exposure reporting.
• Continuously review and improve reporting processes and systems for accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional business departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of physical metals trading operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, industrial engineering, actuarial science, accounting, finance or a related field.
• Previous experience in risk or market analysis is desirable.
• Knowledge of metals and minerals transactional instruments and deal economics is a plus.
• Strong analytical and report‑writing abilities.
• Fluency in English (minimum B2) and Spanish (minimum C1).
• Ability to work under pressure in a high‑pace, dynamic environment.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
